Princeton University's Program in Science, Technology, and Environmental Policy (STEP) is based at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs.

STEP is a campus-wide hub that connects the academic research of the Andlinger Center for Energy and the EnvironmentPrinceton Environmental Institute and various science and engineering departments with the policy expertise of the Woodrow Wilson School.

In its teaching and research, STEP blends scientific knowledge and methods with social science and practitioner perspectives in ways that yield practical solutions to the major environmental and technological challenges facing the world today. The overarching goal of the program is to train students and researchers to be engaged and effective citizens and leaders in a world that, for better and worse, is being transformed by technological and environmental stresses.
